Nelson Musical Theatre has been lighting up the stage since the late 1800s, making us one of the oldest musical theatre societies in New Zealand. With over 120 years of creating amazing shows, we’re proud to be a cornerstone of Nelson's vibrant theatre scene.
We’re thrilled to stage high-quality productions, but that’s not all we do! We love collaborating with community members who have a passion for writing, producing, or directing musicals. Your creative dreams are welcome here!
Our pride and joy is the Red Door Theatre, our very own performance space near Founders Park. As the only theatre society in Nelson with its own venue, we offer a unique space for all your theatrical needs.
Need a costume? We’ve got you covered! Our extensive wardrobe is available for hire. Visit us during our open hours:
- Tuesdays: 10:30am - 2pm & 4pm - 6pm
- Thursdays: 10:30am - 2pm
- Saturdays: 10am - 12pm
- Sundays: 1pm - 3pm
