Experience Waitangi Day 2025 in Nelson!
Join us for a vibrant celebration of Waitangi Day 2025! In partnership with Whakatu Marae, Founders Heritage Park, and Nelson City Council, this special event honours Aotearoa’s bicultural heritage and community spirit.
The Day’s Highlights
- Pōwhiri at 9am: Begin with a traditional welcome hosted by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua and iwi of Te Tauihu o Te Waka-a-Māui.
- International Kai Festival (10am–3pm): Savour delicious kai, refreshing drinks, and explore arts & crafts across Founders Heritage Park and Whakatu Marae.
- Live Entertainment: Enjoy performances by local kapa haka and Pacifica groups, plus guest appearances (to be announced).
